Guide

Enforce your whitelist in-game with txAdmin

txAdmin can check a player's Discord roles when they connect. FiveApply gives approved applicants a role automatically, so once this is set up, approving an application is all it takes to let someone in. No extra resource needed.

You need txAdmin v7+ and access to the txAdmin web panel as master/admin.

1. Decide which role grants access

In FiveApply, open Forms → your whitelist form → Settings. Under Discord roles on approval, pick the role approved players should receive (e.g. @Whitelisted), and make sure "Grants in-game whitelist" is on.

Then go to Discord & bot and press Run check — the bot's role must sit above @Whitelisted or it can't assign it.

2. Create your own bot for txAdmin

txAdmin needs a bot of its own to read your members' roles. It runs inside txAdmin, so there's nothing to host and no code to write: you just register it with Discord and paste its token into txAdmin. It takes about two minutes.

Use your own bot, not ours. FiveApply will never ask for or give out a bot token. A bot token is a password: whoever holds it controls the bot, so never share it or post it anywhere.
  1. Go to the Discord Developer Portal and sign in.
  2. Press New Application, give it a name (e.g. My Server Whitelist), accept the terms and press Create.
  3. Open the Installation tab and set Install Link to None. Then open the Bot tab and turn Public Bot off, so only you can add it to servers.
  4. Still on the Bot tab, under Privileged Gateway Intents, turn on Server Members Intent and press Save Changes. Without this, txAdmin can't see anyone's roles.
  5. Press Reset Token, confirm, and copy the token. Keep it somewhere safe for the next step. Discord only shows it once, but you can reset it again any time.
  6. Open OAuth2 → URL Generator. Tick the bot scope. It doesn't need any permissions, because it only reads roles.
  7. Copy the generated URL at the bottom, open it in your browser, pick your server and press Authorize. The bot appears in your member list. It shows as offline until txAdmin connects it.

3. Connect txAdmin to your Discord server

  1. In txAdmin, open Settings → Discord Bot.
  2. Enable the bot and paste the token you copied in step 2.
  3. Enter your Server (Guild) ID, the same one you linked in FiveApply. (In Discord, right-click your server icon → Copy Server ID. If you don't see it, turn on Developer Mode under User Settings → Advanced.)
  4. Save and check the status shows Ready. The bot now shows as online in Discord whenever txAdmin is running.

4. Turn on the Discord-role whitelist

  1. Go to Settings → Player Manager (called Whitelist in older versions).
  2. Set Whitelist Mode to Discord Server Roles.
  3. In Whitelisted Discord Roles, paste the role ID of @Whitelisted. (Discord → Server Settings → Roles → right-click the role → Copy Role ID; enable Developer Mode under Advanced if you don't see it.)
  4. Optionally customise the rejection message — include your apply link: https://fiveapply.com/c/your-community
  5. Save.

5. Test it

  1. Submit a test application with an alt Discord account and approve it.
  2. Within a few seconds the account should have @Whitelisted in Discord (check Overview → system status if not — the worker must be running).
  3. Launch FiveM with Discord open, and connect. You're in.

Troubleshooting

  • "You are not whitelisted" even after approval — FiveM can only see your Discord account if the Discord desktop app is running before you launch FiveM.
  • txAdmin's bot won't connect — make sure Server Members Intent is on (step 2) and the token was copied in full. If in doubt, reset the token and paste the new one.
  • Token leaked? Press Reset Token in the Developer Portal straight away. The old one stops working, then paste the new one into txAdmin.
  • Role never appears — run the bot check. 9 times out of 10 the bot's role is below the role it's trying to give.
  • Removed someone's role by hand? FiveApply re-adds roles for approved players every few hours (reconciliation). Deny or block them instead to keep them out.

Want more than roles?

On Essential and Pro, the FiveApply FiveM resource checks our API directly, links Cfx licenses to applicants and flags alt accounts.
